Condolences Pour in for Shebeshxt

Mzansi hip hop icon, Shebeshxt, is coming to terms with the loss of his nine-year-old daughter after a devastating car accident.

The 27-year-old rapper was en route to an African National Congress Siyanqoba celebration concert in Limpopo – at which he had been scheduled to perform – on Saturday evening, 8 June, with three other passengers when his vehicle collided with another.

According to reports, the musician – whose real name is Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke – also lost his foot in the incident.

The family shared a statement regarding the incident via X, formerly known as Twitter, on Monday, 10 June: “The accident unfortunately claimed the life of his beloved daughter Onthatile, which has caused utter grief and shock as she was the angel that warmed all our hearts. In this time of grief, we appeal for your empathy, consideration, space, and time to deal with this unfortunate tragic news. [sic]”

He later took to the same social media platform to share a picture of his recently departed child holding a dog with the moving caption: “My life will never be the same without your presence.”

As of yet, the family have not shared whether they will be holding a public memorial service for the little one.
